This vintage Japanese cotton fireman kimono coat is a unique piece of clothing with a rich cultural heritage. The coat features intricate sashiko stitching and is ideal for collectors or those interested in Japanese culture. The provenance of the coat is unknown, but it is a stunning example of the craftsmanship and attention to detail that goes into traditional Japanese clothing. The coat is not new, but its age and wear only add to its character and authenticity. It is a must-have for anyone who appreciates Japanese art and culture.
This cotton hikeshi-banten (fireman jacket) is modeled after Edo era (
1603-1867) fireman's uniforms. Now they are mostly worn by fire brigade members to events, demonstrations, and festivities.
This jacket is dark black sashiko cotton with three red stripes across the shoulders and four white stripes across the middle. It's a medium-to-heavy weight woven cotton that is soft and comfortable to wear.
